Round 26 will open March 17, 2007 and run through June 24, 2007; featuring the art works by:

  • Barsamian - Painter by Discipline, Installation Artist
  • Thurman "T" Brown - Digital Media Artist, Photographer, Writer
  • Ray Carrington - Photographer
  • Rita Duffy - Painter, Belfast, Ireland
  • J. Hill - Sculptor, Installation Artist, Oral Historian
  • Lynne McCabe - Interdisciplinary Artist, Great Brittain

Round 26 will focus on the "People, Places, and Things of the Northern Third Ward"
Artists will include photographers, digital media, installation and multi-media artists who will engage with residents within a 35-block area targeted by Project Row Houses to capture, reflect and/or tell the stories of area residents. The final product of this exploration will be exhibited in seven Artist Project Houses located between 2505 and 2517 Holman Street.

The intent of this Round is to inform the public about the rich history of the Northern Third Ward residents. The neighborhood is currently undergoing economic and demographic changes. As a way to cultivate positive relationships among the new residents and existing residents that are based on mutual respect, this Round aims to document and celebrate the history of the Third Ward community.

Demetrius Oliver is a Core Fellow with the Glassell School of Art, and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Master of Fine Arts Program, whose multimedia work takes on African-American culture and history, a well as the figure of the Trickster.

Demetrius Oliver is a Core Fellow with the Glassell School of Art, and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Master of Fine Arts Program, whose multimedia work takes on African-American culture and history, a well as the figure of the Trickster. His work incorporates digital photography, sculpture, performance, and drawing, as well as himself.   Demetrius Oliver is completing a two-year residency in the Extra Small House by a Glassell School of Art Core Fellow Artist in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.

Resident artist Selven O'Keef Jarmonis currently working on a conceptual art project that will function as a community and economic development project in South African townships. He will be working with the South African government to begin redesigning the school uniforms of the South African schools to adhere to the tribal culture.
